Father Bob rocks
I sometimes come home fairly late from a close shift at McD's and inveriably end up listening to the radio on the way home. Last Sunday i was fortunate enough to catch the tail-end of a program on Triple J called sunday night Safran - It's mostly a commentary on religion and current affairs.
Anyway,
John Safran did a few doco series, one of which was called John Safran vs God and was fucking funny - he did a test-run of all the popular and wierd religions and some stupid shit here and there - getting an excorcism, removing the curse from the Australian soccer team in zimbabwe etc. anyway, when he got onto cathlocism, he met up with a priest called Father Bob Maguire, who resides over a church in inner Sydney.
Point is,
Father Bob is a regular guest on Sunday night Safran, which you can listen to
here.
It's usually pretty funny with Safran taking the piss out of Father Bob most of the time, and father bob himself uses the same kind of humor as my grandad, who is a fucking champ.
enough of my fucking prattle, just listen to it ok?
AC-DC
The boys (Sam, Luke, Ben and myself)got together today for another band session.
Went well.
first off was 'sweet child'o mine' by guns and roses followed by 'sumnshine of my love' by cream. these worked ok, though i didnt know the riffs for sweet child, so i was just improving it the whole time.
then we moved on to AC-DC. That decision was right on the money...
first off, we did an instrumental 'back in black' and then Kirbs decided we should dig out the mic ($2 crazy clarks piece of shit) and someone have a yell along with it. Luke sort of didnt want to, ben sounded like a strangled cat so we got the mic working and everything and i said yeah ill have a go. it went something like this -
intro-
2 x verse 1
*dave does best ac-dc voice*
Back in black
I hit the sack
I been too long
I'm glad to be back
Yes, I'm dead loose(meanwhile ben and luke are doubled over crying with laughter. sam is like wtf that was ok...)
but the face they say...haha.
anyway we had another go after unfucking the stuff (cables and crap)
then we tried 'highway to hell' with me singing
worked ok
'back in black' again
'TNT'
anyway thats a snippet of how the practice went, photos to follow. any who were wondering what theyre like - thats it. just fucking around most of the time.
i thought it was a damn good practice, we did pretty well, and it was nice to hear a bit of singing to go with the instrumentals.
it was luke's last (formal) practice with the band, but it didnt detract from anything. moving on to bigger and better things i guess. eric is to fill luke's spot, we'll see how that goes.
keep on pluggin on...
later all
drum kit
wall of amps
fender squier p-bass, fender strat, ibanez AX70?
actions shot! (ben and luke)
luke on lead guitar
me on bass
me on vocals
kirbs on drums
ben and luke in action
Nothing new
hey all.
not much happening of late.
visited a mate and helped install a tacho (in a red 1982 4.1L manual Ford Falcon XE Station Wagon or the 'Red Falcon') recently. Much fun. Reminded me that yes, i do want to be tuning/fiddling with cars after school in my spare time at least.
Very pleased the tacho wasnt a monster 6" luminous gauge with shift light set at 2000 'arpees for a stock auto commodore, as is the fashion amongst the knobs of the Australian modified car scene. just a little-ish black one.
Should be interesting as to wether the thing looks much better with a new paint-job and a bit of panel-beating here and there - i think that and some new door-seal things for the window, plus the odd bit of rust removal seem to be the extent of aesthetc improvement needed.
Was fucking round with the bass amps today, and much to my delight if you plug the bass into the passive input on the Rumble (25W, 8") and turn that one, and plug the 15B (15W, 6") into the effects loop/pre-amp in of the Rumble, they both work in synchro. Cheers to volume, now i might be able to hear myself at practice. Sawoit!
In other news, am going to go see Wil Anderson (comedian) of Triple J breakfast radio fame this afternoon/night. should be a bloody good show, 'specially for the money.
I have around 20 hours of work next week too, which shall help much toward the progress in buying my suit for the formal. I may have mentioned this earlier, but i have a pet hate of people who rent suits. That is all.
Have a good holidays kids, enjoy youselves.
Fuck Yes!
i found the wierdest site.
it's at www.subservientchicken.com and it's some poor fuck with a webcam in his lounge room in a chicken suit that does what you tell him, well some of it anyway.

First off - fuck you Modern History. you are a good subject on the whole, i will take some useful knowledge from you after i leave school unlike Physics, and i can stand to do it. Just....not.....that.....much.
ok, shoot. you fucking tell me how long you worked on your assignment. Try Saturday from 1pm til 6pm (5 hours) and Sunday from 2pm til 4am (14 hours bitches) now we add that together and we get...
19 hours! (p.s anyone who sends in something better
has to have a social life too)
Haha. then try bullshitting your way through two physics exams waiting to unload this thing like a fat man needing to unload a massive poo, and finding the video you spent a good couple of hours working on doent fucking work. And you know that, most probably, the teacher couldnt be fucked looking at the cd your presentation was burnt on. Fuck it.
BUT in other news, i have discovered another humorous blog. yes, wading amongst the shite of the internet, i found, of all things, a blog that reads like a grown-up
Kirbs. oh, here's the
link.
I got a haircut too. for free, as always.
Anyho, thats all the bitchin i had up my sleeve to do. Have fun kids
